Having obtained the bachelor's degree – after a 3 year study programme – most students are expected to continue studying in the graduate programme in clinical biomechanics. The MSc degree then allows you to undertake a house year with a certified chiropractor or in a relevant hospital ward. Having accomplished this, you will become a certified chiropractor with the right to work, independently.
Chiropractics - a field in rapid development
Today, more than 600 certified chiropractors work in the health services in Denmark. Some have their own clinics and others work as assistants. But the job opportunities within the chiropractor profession are in constant development. As a full-fledged chiropractor you may also specialise within the health care sector or in a particular area of knowledge by way of a Diploma programme at the graduate level. It is also possible to become a researcher in the muscular skeletal system or teach in the study programme in clinical biomechanics.
Good job prospects
As the University of Southern Denmark is the only educational institution in Scandinavia offering these study programmes, the job prospects are very good. In Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia there is no unemployment in the field at the moment. The degree will also enable you to find employment abroad - for instance in Norway, Sweden, England, the US and Australia.
