The travel grant Reisekammeraten

“Reisekammeraten” is a prize in the form of a travel grant of DKK 25,000, which is awarded during the Hans Christian Andersen Festivals. The prize was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's work and, not least, his love of travel. The prize winner is found among students at SDU Odense or UCL Odense. The student must have planned an exciting and preferably slightly adventurous study period in another country. The committee’s selection attaches importance to the fact that the applicant has reflected on travelling and interactions with other cultures. The travel grant is awarded for a future study period only.

This prize is awarded in connection with the opening of Spoken Word during the Hans Christian Andersen Festivals in week 34. It is an absolute prerequisite that the student is present at the award ceremony to receive the prize.

The committee consists of:
Birgitte Bøgh-Sørensen, Director, Orifarm (chairperson)
Johs. Nørregaard Frandsen, Emeritus Professor, SDU
Jens Mejer Pedersen, Vice-chancellor, UCL Business Academy and University College
Simon Møberg Torp, Dean, The Faculty of Humanities, SDU

The application must be sent in one file and must contain:

  • A short CV
  • A personal application
  • A statement from the university teacher/supervisor

Applications from SDU students should be sent to Marianne Sandvei (msandvei@sdu.dk)
Applications from UCL students should be sent to Birgitte Dahl Sørensen (bids@ucl.dk)

The deadline for applications is June 6, 2024. Applicants will receive a response during week 26.
